Day 3 Tuesday (24/6/2008)

Today has come to day 3 of our overland trip! Let's discover what have done!

Is another morning! We are having our buffet breakfast in the resort restaurant.

Guest who is the smart guy in the picture? Is our Dato Goh riding on a mountain bike and ready for adventure!

First place to go, an elephant right! Just stay cool and calm.

The elephant is very friendly, just give some bananas to her that will be great!

Now, we are prepare to go across on the historical River Kwai Bridge.

How nice! This kind of old timer train are still available at River Kwai. A daily train is still following the historical route from Kanchanaburi to Nam Tok Railway Station.

When pass through the half-way of the bridge of River Kwai, you will saw some nice and beutiful floating restaurant.

Internationally famous, thanks the several motion pictures and books, the black iron bridge was brought from Java by the Japanese supervision by Allied prisoner-of-war labour as part of the Death Railway linking Thailand with Burma. Still in use today, the bridge was the target of frequent Allied bombing raids during World War II and was rebuild after war ended. The curved spans of the bridge are the original sections.

After all, before go on the train, we decided to experience the true story of the River Kwai at the War Museum. The private sector Museum that collects lots of World War II Stories, such as war instruments, photographs, uniforms, etc. It is located on the bank of Kwai River nearby the Bridge on the River Kwai.

This C5623 is a very first kind of older train which is no longer operate.

Go go go, our train has arrive. Please line up and go up carefully.

How amazing! Now we were on the train and seems like back to the old time.

Our friend her enjoy a lot! But there is some one ..... fall a sleep.

No worry, you can get foods, drinkss, even gifts and souvinier on the train!

In 1943 thousands of Allied Prisoners of War (PoW) and Asian labourers worked on the Death Railway under the imperial Japanese army in order to construct part of the 415 km long Burma-Thailand railway.

Reach the restaurant at Baan Pha Nam Resort of Kanchanaburi and having our lunch after a long trip on the train.

From the reaction, definitely you will now how nice was the food to be!

Next we were on our way to discover the Muang Sing Historical Park. Muang Singh town was built between 857 and 1157 when the Khmer Kingdom was still prosperous. It was later abandoned until the reign of King Rama I when Muang Singh was rebuilt as a Kanchanaburi border town.Since that we are just having our lunch, this is the good way to exercise.

Our friends here feel proud to stand on the historical path and taking photos.

This Muang Singh must have been an important outpost of Angkor as it was mentioned in the Prasat Phra Khan inscription made during the reign of King Jayavarman VII. At present, Muang Singh on the bank of Khwae Noi river is included in Muang Singh sub-district, Sai Yok district, Kanchanaburi Province.

After a long day travel. Finally we have back to our Felix River Kwai Resort. Tonight will be set for free activites so every one can just go off as they like. As the others, after a short break, they come to 'The Good Earth' Chinese restaurant to have our dinner. Since that we have the chance to try out what is the different of our Thai friends are cooking in Chinese cuisine.

As we have order few dishes to full fill our desperation of eating Chinese foods. The delicious dishes we have order first will be the 'Chef's Signature Baked 'Na"Nam Yue" Pork Rib', follow by 'Double Boiled Chicken with Bamboo Pith & Chinese Herb Soup'.

An the third dish is 'Deep Fried Bean Curd topped with Conpoy served with Oyster Sauce' come to the last is 'Wok Fried mixed Vegetable "Lor Hon" style'. The price are fair and square since it is a resort restaurant but what I can tell you is the taste are marvelous!
